It will help them to understand different skin colors and pay attention to the different skin colors in our books. We are always drawing the characters from a story and I want the students (in a sense) to be able to discover different skin colors hands on. My students have the typical pack of crayons so when he do create people, sometimes they will choose their favorite color such as purple. They do not quite understand how to color people the correct way but having crayons and markers that represent those people will help them.
