Funded May 5, 2022It is with great joy that I can share with you some pictures of the projects we have been able to work on, thanks to your donations. As we come to the end of the school year, it feels incredible to realize how your altruistic acts have allowed us to read, discuss, create, share, and LEARN.
We have used the books to learn about ourselves and debate what diversity and equality mean. The pictures show some of the works we created. For example, we use Acceptance is my Superpower to create a puzzle in which students would write statements about themselves, what they feel proud of or what they like about themselves. I Am Enough was a great reading to discuss the importance of understanding who we are, our purpose in life, and how we can impact others. Finally, you will see pictures of four trees. Each tree represents a house from the Harry Potter series books. Each leaf represents a book a student read. Each student wrote a summary, a recommendation, or a comment about the book the student just finished.
As you can see, we spent the last couple of weeks reading, discussing the stories, and discussing important values that we believe will improve our society.
Once again, thank you so much for your support and help.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Barjacoba
