  • 4th Graders Will Shine With an iPad for the Classroom

    Funded May 7, 2024

Thank you so much for your incredible support of my DonorsChoose project. Your generous contributions have provided my students with essential resources that will greatly enhance their learning experience. Your kindness and support are making a significant difference in our classroom, helping us achieve our educational goals. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and commitment to our students' success. Be sure that this project will not only support my current students, but all the students I will have in the coming years.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barjacoba

  • Creating an Interactive Learning Center

    Funded May 8, 2023

First of all, thank you so much for your incredible donations. This project couldn´t have been funded on a better time. We are using our last weeks of schools to work on projects (reading, math, and science) and the iPad has made a big impact among my students. We now have an interactive learning center in which students can do research, create presentations and even videos to share with other all the things they learned. I am very excited to have such incredible resources in my class. Thank you so much for your incredible support.”

  • Classic Literature Books

    Funded Apr 29, 2023

I can't express how happy, excited and thankful we feel to see pur project funded. We would like to thank you for your incredible donations. As a teacher, literature is my passion, and I am glad to be able to share my passion with my students by providing them with books they will enjoy. I think your donations are a great example of what it means to be an active citizen who contributes to the future of our students. We will be able to start reading these books until the last day of school. I will also use the books in the upcoming school years. Once again, thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barjacoba

  • Learning to Edit Our Future

    Funded Apr 13, 2023

I can't find the words to express my gratitude towards all the funding you provided to make this project a reality. My students can use the laptop to enhance their learning, and it is already making an impact on their work. We have also used the resources during our Podcast club, in which we were able to do research and record our show.

Once again, thank you so much for your help in making my students succeed at school, but also in life. Be sure that we will make the best from these resources.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barjacoba

  • Classroom Basics

    Funded Dec 31, 2022

Receiving your incredible donations has made my students feel extremely happy. We were in need of basic materials (pencils, copy paper, tissues, anchor chart papers, notebooks...), and getting this project funded is what we needed to focus on learning. We don't need to worry about making copies, using pencils or requesting tissues to families.

We can only express our gratitude and happiness through this letter, but we hope you can receive positive energy from us as a big "thank you donors!".

Thank you for supporting the students and teachers.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barjacoba

  • Podcasting to Spread Our Learning!

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

I am reaching out to you to thank you for your incredible donations. I am glad to inform you that our Podcast Club is a success. Using all the devices you helped us get, we have been able to start an incredible podcasting club in which students from 4th and 5th collaborate to do research, discuss topics, and record incredible conversations. We are still learning, so our podcast has not been published yet, but we are on the right track. My students are also learning about how to record, edit sound and adjust the recordings so that they can be shared with others. None of this would be possible without your support.

Thank you so much for being wonderful human beings who support the education of our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barjacoba

  • We Value Equality and Diversity Through Literature

    Funded May 5, 2022

It is with great joy that I can share with you some pictures of the projects we have been able to work on, thanks to your donations. As we come to the end of the school year, it feels incredible to realize how your altruistic acts have allowed us to read, discuss, create, share, and LEARN.

We have used the books to learn about ourselves and debate what diversity and equality mean. The pictures show some of the works we created. For example, we use Acceptance is my Superpower to create a puzzle in which students would write statements about themselves, what they feel proud of or what they like about themselves. I Am Enough was a great reading to discuss the importance of understanding who we are, our purpose in life, and how we can impact others. Finally, you will see pictures of four trees. Each tree represents a house from the Harry Potter series books. Each leaf represents a book a student read. Each student wrote a summary, a recommendation, or a comment about the book the student just finished.

As you can see, we spent the last couple of weeks reading, discussing the stories, and discussing important values that we believe will improve our society.

Once again, thank you so much for your support and help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barjacoba

I am requesting an iPad to use with my students in both online and in-class instruction. With this device, I will create visuals (illustrations, charts, vocabulary) and videos that will help my students master the content with the appropriate language support. Many of my students say that they have difficulty completing assignments at home. Creating materials that can be shared online will be a perfect way to continue helping students at home, especially in the following months that they will be preparing for state testing and their journey to 5th grade. I have chosen to think about distance learning not as a problem but as an opportunity to improve. For this reason, providing quality education to students that come to school and those who connect virtually is my main priority.
