We need a plant light for our paludarium which contains live-bearing fish, aquatic and terrestrial plants. This ecosystem gives students the opportunity to see how organisms work together. We test the water each week to track changes in dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. In addition, we also have a smaller aquarium that has live plants which are used to create student eco bottles. These plants are used year after year and give students the opportunity to learn about the hydrologic, carbon, and nitrogen cycles and how they circulate throughout the eco bottle.
