Our student population is urban, diverse and largely economically challenged. Many students are immigrants and need ESL support. Despite the challenges our school environment is positive. Staff and students support each other and attempt to make the best of what we have. These science materials are the perfect tools for students to access real phenomena, such as motors and electrical circuits. Phenomena driven investigations are student centered and enable more enduring understanding in students. They have to figure out how to explain what they see, instead of just memorizing definitions. ESL students learn much better from visual and hands -on experiences, all students benefit from seeing real phenomena! Please help us get these materials!
