As a special education teacher, all of my students have different needs and require different supports to help them learn successfully. Having one static form of seating often causes students to have to find new ways to engage their bodies in movement which distracts their peers and themselves from their learning. Flexible seating is a safe and appropriate way for students to move their bodies to allow themselves to stay engaged in their learning while still staying active and not distracting their peers. These tools are helpful for all types of learners and will be beneficial for my students in general education and special education classrooms.
