I teach in a Title I school in rural North Florida. My students are especially vulnerable; many come from low-income households that struggle during the best of times. If you have ever been in a preschool classroom, you know how colorful and alive it is. It's one of the happiest places on earth.
COVID-19 has caused many restrictions to outdoor fun!
As a teacher, my heart is broken because I did not get to finish the last school year with my students. However, I am very excited about the new friends I do have this year! Due to COVID-19, there are many protocols and procedures which have been put into place to slow the spread of the virus and keep everyone safe while we are actually doing brick and mortar instead of virtual learning. In anticipation of a new recess schedule, which will include a rotation between the use of playground equipment and playing on an empty grass quarter, I would like to get some physical education equipment for my students to enjoy when they are not scheduled to play on the playground. Currently, my students spend two weeks of every month on an empty field quarter during recess time. There is no equipment for them to play with. This leads to students being bored and participating in unsafe activities. Having a Rainbow Toy Tent Game , Basketball Hoop for Kids, Himal Collapsible Portable 5 Holes Cornhole Game Cornhole Set Bounce Bean Bag Toss Game, Crayola 64 Count Sidewalk Chalk, and Gamecraft 9" Plastic Flying Discs will keep my students busy and occupied during our outdoor recess time. These resources are also designed to help develop coordination and motor skills which are area my students badly need improvement. This, in turn, will allow them the exercise they need to refresh.
