  • POP into Words

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

My students were so excited to use the Pop-Its because they are so familiar with them. When we gather on the carpet to practice CVC words the Pop-Its provide an additional hands-on resource. The students have to find the three letters that make the CVC word and pop each letter. This provides an additional modality to practice CVC words. By incorporating the Pop-Its in the classroom, the students can know POP CVC words in addition to writing them on dry erase boards. We are currently using them in a whole group setting but will transition them to small group and then individual.

Thank you so much for all your generous donations for giving my students these amazing opportunity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mottice

  • Stick Together With Magnatiles

    Funded Mar 5, 2021

My classroom greatly appreciates your generous donations. The donations provided magnatiles for our daily centers. The students were excited to see the new magnatile center. They could not wait to use them and were patiently waiting their turn for the center. I watched the students interact, create various structures and communicate with their peers on ways to build. It was interesting to observe the students interaction and decide upon ways to manipulate the tiles in order to form new structures.

Thank you again! We appreciation your classroom support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mottice

The Magnatiles will be used during daily center time. Students will have the opportunity to create structures. Magnatiles enable students to use problem solving skills and their imagination. Magnatiles will enable students to build structures while using their creative minds. These magnatiles will make connections across the curriculum especially in science and math. The students will need to be able to count magnatiles in order to build their structure. They will also need to create a structure by using a model or create a building on their own that is sturdy and strong.
