Our students are facing many challenges at this time. All students want to be able to learn and thrive. Hearing instruction is key to that process. We work with students in person and at home. This presents challenges that can definitely be alleviated with headphones. The students that are home have a difficult time hearing instruction because they do not have the luxury of having their own quiet space or bedroom. These students come from multi-family homes that can create a very noisy environment at times. The headphones will play a major role in enabling these students to access much-needed instruction. When we pose questions in the classroom and a student at home wants to answer, they unmute themselves and we can hear all the noise from their homes. It breaks our hearts that they have to endure all the noise while trying to succeed in school. In addition, in-person instruction also faces challenges on its own. Some of our students receive intervention instruction with other teachers virtually and it's very difficult to learn and hear instruction when we are both teaching at the same time. There are many programs that we would be able to utilize by having the headphones as well. We would be able to have them all participate at the same time and they would be able to focus better while learning. It would really be something to be able to give each child their very own pair of headphones. They would each have a chance to learn more effectively with these headphones.
