  • Rock Enthusiasts

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

    Thank you so much for the awesome rock collection! The rocks are beautiful and unique. Both teachers and students alike were taken in by the different properties of each rock.

    As a class, we began by having a discussion on what makes up a rock and why do rocks look different. Students shared their knowings on the topic and also shared wonderings. We were able to find insightful videos about rock formations and how rocks evolve over time. The best part was the hands on activity where students each received a magnifying glass and an assortment of rocks. The ooooss and ahhsss were contagious. While classifying the different rocks, students become engrossed with the different sparkles, textures, and finishes.

    Overall an unforgettable experience. Hopefully

    in the future we can upgrade this activity by visiting a cave or volcano.”

    Thank you so much for your generous contributions. Your contributions have allowed us to enhance student learning during these unpredictable times. The art supplies have inspired students to create work that has brightened gloomy days. The books on different subject matters have allowed us to engage in deep and rich conversations about love, life, and death. Books hold a special place in our hearts as it provides an escape from everyday news and real world problems. Books inspire us to use our imagination to think big and outside of the box. The printer is used solely by the teacher, but essential in providing supplemental resources for students. Again, thank you for giving for those in need and may God continue to bless you.”

The wonders are bundles of curiosity! Our favorite activities consist of reading and sharing findings. Help us enhance our learning by providing resources that will allow us to showcase our learning and love for books. Having access to a printer helps our teacher quickly access materials that we might need to complete an activity. It also allows the teacher to showcase the avatars we have earned for all the hard work we do. We are also in need of more books as we have almost read all the books in the classroom. We love to learn and hopefully you will help us become better!

About my class
