  • Calming Corner

    Thank you so much for your donation to our Calm Down Corner! It has been a BIG hit in our classroom! My students now feel comfortable understanding their emotions enough to use the Calm Down Space whenever their emotions are high. This safe space has made it easier for students to manage their emotions within our classroom and be able to return to class more quickly.   • Get Ready for a Stand Up Lesson from EVERY Angle!

    Thank you so much for your help in bringing an easel to my classroom. It has been a blessing to have additional whiteboard space available at the roll of a cart! Our easel has been a great addition to every subject area, especially writing and math. With a lined whiteboard on one side, I have been able to show kids proper sentence structure and letter formation. Math problems are also modeled, erased, and revised quickly on the blank side of our board. Students have loved sharing their work on the board by either drawing it out or hanging it on our easel with a magnet. This easel will continue to be a positive experience in our classroom.   • Can you Breakout?

    Funded May 20, 2021

    Thank you so much for supporting myself and my students. I have already used the breakout boxes this year and can't wait to continue using them for years to come. My students are always intrigued when I get out the breakout boxes for the first time, and their excitement continues to grow from there. I wish I could share this excitement with all of you because it is quite priceless. While working through breakout boxes, students have learned the importance of teamwork, communication, and productive struggle. By the end of their second-grade year, students will have conquered at least 3 breakout boxes.

    I have also been able to share the fun with my fellow 2nd-grade teachers. Your donation has impacted four classes for two years now! The kids love this engaging and exciting challenge and I love providing them with this unique opportunity! I can't express how grateful I am for all your support! Thank you again!”

A standing easel at the front of our class will provide students with the perfect view of materials. This easel will be a wonderful addition to our learning environment. Students often participate in class from different locations in the classroom. A moveable display will be an easy way to ensure all students can see the materials on display. Engaging students with materials I present on the easel, while they work around the room, will increase student interaction in our lessons. During partner work in our math lessons, an easel on wheels will be the perfect way to wheel a quick-look example around the room. An easel like this will also be the perfect way to clearly display thinking maps we complete as a class for a model. Students will be able to easily refer to this model as needed during work time. This will also provide me an easy way to write down student ideas as they are given in class, and model proper writing techniques. An easel like this will help me enrich my students' learning experience.
