  • Mid-Year Restock

    Funded Mar 17, 2023

My students were extremely grateful for all the materials including clipboards and extra stools to use around the room. This has provided a classroom environment that encourages collaboration, allows students to move beyond their desk to solve math problems with peers and allows for additional working spaces. Getting new markers also provided us with more opportunities to use the white board kidney shaped table and their own desk stops to solve out problems.

As the boxes began to arrive students became increasingly more excited, ready to see and use all the new materials. Some of the boxes were quite large due to the stools which amped up the excitement.

Next steps, we will continue to use the materials by using the stools as a tool to work with peers by, moving them to another students desk, by the back counter, provide additional options for seating when students do not want to sit on the carpet and additional seating while I work with a small group at the back kidney table. The clipboards are used daily during group activities and this occurs in all subjects.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Williams

  • 5th Grade Class CASH Items

    Funded Apr 9, 2022

Our fifth grade students love the additional items to the class store. Students are truly saving up their "class cash" to earn the big ticket items purchased through this grant. We are truly grateful for everyone's support and willingness to donate to fund items for our class store.

All fifth grade students were beyond excited to receive all the items. The class store truly got a face lift as well as students were able to get essential classroom supplies which had run out since the beginning of the year.

In the photos below, you will see how our students run the class store themselves and how they use class cash to pay for the items. We plan to continue this classroom motivation and management plan into the next school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Williams

  • Jumping into the 2022-23 School Year

    Funded Jun 14, 2022

Thank you for all your generous donations! My students use the stools daily in the classroom at all stations from the white board kidney table, to group work at the back table to additional seating in the "comfy" area. All of the items for the Class Store. have been a major hit as well. The classroom decor items make the room look cozy, neat and organized.

I have had multiple students compliment our classroom organization and decor this year. Students from other classrooms also want to "shop" at our classroom store instead of their classroom store. We have the best items! I also had students come back to visit from previous years and they are very jealous of the upgraded decor, organization, stools and extra supply materials.

Students have been learning about volume recently. We have used the markers we purchased to create posters for solving problems and hanging them up in the hallway for others to learn. Student shave been earning "class cash" and have loved shopping at the store each week. We are beyond grateful for every ones support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Williams

  • Put On Your Listening Ears

    Funded Feb 14, 2021

Thank you so much for all your support in donating money to reach our goal! The first grade students and teachers were beyond excited to get their new headphones to use with their iPads. Students are able to hear their own device without listening to the devices of the other twenty students in their classroom. Teachers are able to work with students one on one or in small groups with out the disruption of iPads reading or explaining directions to students. The headphones are very stylish and the students have been taking amazing care of their new "treasure". Thank you again for supporting our students at Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary School. We are very grateful for your lasting support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Williams

Our students will be able to use their headphones to complete daily individualized assignments on their Ipads. Technology has become a major part of learning in education. Students use their ipads throughout the day to listen to stories, record themselves reading, listen to word problems, create videos on how to solve problems, and practice learning skills through interactive apps. Our first graders need help "putting on their listening ears" to learn better through the use of technology. Having comfortable headphones and a quiet surrounding environment will allow the students to listen to their device more effectively.
