First graders are capable and imaginative. They are amazingly wonderful with technology. They are able to create projects so that all them have a voice in the world. They have created projects regarding social and emotional well-being to teach about animals and their needs. They share their knowledge with each other, other students and members of the community. In our school, we celebrate and help our students develop creativity, collaboration, critical thinking skills, communication skills, citizenship and character through their daily interactions. I have facilitated many Chromebook projects with my first graders that allowed them to use all these skills to better their community around them. We need additional Chromebooks to increase student access.
