  • Literacy Classroom

    First of all, from the bottom of my heart, I would like to say thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. This is the first year of this high school literacy program, and the supplies are essential to its success. Fortunately, you have made my life a million times easier and I am able to focus on my students rather than worrying about purchasing supplies.

    My course is designed to help remediate gaps in their education. We are focused on grammar, writing, reading, and vocabulary skills. Majority of my students' literacy levels range from 2nd to 6th grade. Coupled with language acquisition needs and IEPs for support, my students struggle with school as a whole. I have designed the class as a support for their other major courses: Biology, Global, and English.

    The headphones are being used in conjunction with a reading program called Achieve3000. This software levels texts for students and will read the articles to them as well. This is helping with comprehension and fluency.

  • Headphones to Assist with Accommodations

    Thank you assisting my students with technology. We will be using the headphones at least 2x a week. They will be so excited when I tell them tomorrow that the project has been fully funded. I now have the ability to utilize technology to meet their accommodations with ease. Thank you”

Since COVID, technology has become an integral part of education. My students would benefit from headphones as many of the applications have the ability to assist with their educational accommodations. Students will be able to work at their own pace, as well keep the sound in the class to a minimal level as to not distract one another. Many of them did not attend school for the past 18 months, so we are trying to bridge the gap in their education by using tools that are high interest and appropriate for where they are starting from, as well as pushing them to meet their annual goals.
