Labs for APES!
Funded Oct 29, 2021Thank you so much for your support and believing in our classroom! The students will really benefit from having individual lab supplies. In this COVID era, teachers and students alike are concerned about safety. Your support has made it possible to continue laboratory experiments with the use of individual supplies. We are eager for their arrival and we can't wait to start using them. Donors like you make it possible for me to do my job effectively. Thank you for your contribution and making the world a better place!”

Funded Jan 20, 2021You have helped a teacher who was struggling to adjust to teaching in the COVID era. When you are a teacher, you have to use a program like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet to "see" you students. As you can see in my attached photo, I had an old Windows 7 laptop that I was using to accomplish this. Not only do I need to "see" my students, but I also need to be able to present a lesson that is engaging and interactive. This is very hard to do on a 11.5 inch screen. It is difficult to manage the Zoom meeting and proceed through a lesson on the same screen. My students, of course, noticed the struggle.
Once I received my new monitor and installed it. The impact was immediate. When I tell you I became the multitasking queen, I became the multitasking Queen. The next class session was remarkable. The students noticed that they could see the presentation and work on a quick warm up assignment while I was letting students into the Zoom meeting. Students further noticed that when they asked me a questions, that I could drag other screen over and show them how to manipulate an activity. This new monitor ha changed my virtual teaching for good!
My students have mentioned how they appreciated my willingness to go above and beyond to make sure they receive "fun learning." I am just glad I have the tools to make it happen.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gee
