Fairy Tales Unit: Bringing Magic to the Classroom
Funded Mar 16, 2021I am beyond grateful for the fairytales you provided for my class. We were able to use all of the books. The students read them individually, in pairs, as groups, and even heard some as a read aloud. They were able to have so much exposure to fairytales that aided them in creating their own.
They learned how to compare and contrast original fairytales to fractured fairytales. They also became very familiar with identifying the character traits and the morals in these stories. Also, they are now experts at finding fairytale elements in the stories as well as movies that follow the fairytale structure.
The students loved these books and are so thankful for you for making it possible for them to read it. You are wonderful and we are indebted to you for these generous donations and giving them memories they will never forget.”

Funded Mar 20, 2021Thank you so much for these small group resources! These helped out not only my lower level learners but all the students! I was able to work and focus on those students who needed the extra help. They were able to learn new sight words and have a fun time while gaining knowledge.
They especially loved the swatting game where they were able to compete on who knew the most sight words. Other students were also able to learn new vocabulary words from the sight word flash cards.
Overall, these tools were wonderful for the students to use and truly helped them to grow.”

Paint Kits For Kids
Funded Jan 12, 2021Students are currently taking part in Harmony: a social emotional learning program that was designed to foster communication, connection, and community both in and out of the classroom to aid them in their development into compassionate and empathetic adults.
With these painting materials that you helped to fund, art was brought into the classroom that provided the students with a creative outlet to showcase their social and emotional growth. The students were tasked with brainstorming different ways they can spread love during the COVID-19 times that we are currently living in. We painted flower wreaths with the words, "Love Grows Here" and they attached their writing to their finished paintings.
The students were filled with gratitude and so excited when they first saw their materials. They truly felt like real artists with their art now proudly displayed in the hallway. They are admired by all who pass by and the students have gained confidence in their own abilities as well from many changing their mindset from "I can't draw" to "Wow, I'm a painter!" at the conclusion of their projects. None of that would have been possible without your generous donations and interest in my classroom.”

Mrs. Garcia
