  • Benefits of Photography for Students With Disabilities

    Your generosity has made a huge impact in our classroom. Our students whose disability affects their ability to collaborate with peers, express their emotions, socialize with peers and adults, communicate thoughts and ideas have been able to work on all these skills through the use of our cameras and projects assigned during our photography class. Some of these projects have included optical illusions, using picture grids to frame items, learning about emotions and how one can express through facial expressions, landscapes and many more.”

  • Souring With Technology

    I don't know where to even begin... This donation has helped our class tremendously. Not only were we able to use the iPads for simple everyday academic skills but the communication apps empowered so many students with limited or no speech with an alternative way to communicate. Students have the opportunity to participate in class discussions, communicate their ideas, thoughts, feelings, make sentences and participate in our everyday lessons. These devices have been extremely helpful when learning skills that can be used in their everyday life.”

This project will bring the ability of gaining a voice to children who struggle based on their disabilities. Not only will children be able to use voice activated software but they will also be able to use different applications that will help them read and learn necessary skills that can be used in every day life. The iPads will be used as an assistive device to meet the needs of my profound students. Due to COVID my students can not share devices. Also without the ability to use technology to enhance their learning experience has hindered their progress.

About my class
