  • Dynamic Designs: Sublimation Supplies for Success

    Funded Nov 11, 2024

I want to express my deepest gratitude for your generous support of my DonorsChoose project. Thanks to your kindness, my students in the Graphic Design Club now have access to sublimation supplies that will open up a whole new world of creativity and hands-on learning.

With these supplies, my students can take their digital designs and bring them to life on t-shirts, mugs, keychains, and more. This process not only enhances their technical skills but also gives them a sense of pride and accomplishment in seeing their work turned into real products. Many of my students are exploring graphic design for the first time, and having professional-grade materials to work with makes a huge difference in their confidence and excitement for the field.

On behalf of myself and my students, thank you for believing in our project and for making this opportunity possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woodral

  • Budget, Build, and Bloom

    Funded Feb 12, 2025

Thank you for your generosity and your dedication to today's youth. We are beyond thankful for your help in making our project a success. Without your support none of this would be possible. The students will be so excited with all of their new equipment and supplies. I cannot wait to see what your donations inspire them to create.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woodral

  • Crafting Kindness

    Funded Oct 23, 2024

The materials recieved from this project have enhanced our graphic design club beyond expectation. The students are so proud of the work they do and the projects they get to make during each meeting. Students have made one another gifts, gifts for family, we have been able to create designs so support struggling families, and so much more.

When the students first saw the new materials and realized they would be able to make key chains, cups, mouse pads, puzzles, shirts, and so much more they were very excited. They quickly began working on designs and even doing their own research to ensure they were using the correct heading temperatures to keep from under or over heating their projects.

This club wouldn't be possible without your support and I cannot thank my donors enough.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woodral

  • Empowering Creativity and Financial Literacy Through Graphic Design

    Funded Sep 25, 2024

Thank you so much for your support and helping us get the materials to get our graphic design club up and running. The students have had an absolute blast learning how to make tumblers, shirts, keychains, and so much more. They are continuously asking what they are going to get to learn next and having the materials from this project has made this completely possible. Students were able to design and create gifts for classmates, loved ones, and community members, and with the supplies we still have there are still so many options for them to do! This club would not be possible without you and we can never say thank you enough!”

  • Listen and Learn

    Funded Nov 3, 2023

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of headphones to our classroom. Your support has made a significant impact on our 8th graders, enhancing their learning experience in ways we could only have hoped for.

The headphones have become an invaluable resource for our students. They've allowed us to create a focused and individualized learning environment, especially during activities that require concentration such as independent practice assignments, individualized video lessons, and much more.

Without your support our students would have to provide their own headphones, and many of our students do not have the funds to do so.”

  • Zooming into Photography

    Funded Sep 30, 2023

This project piggybacked off another project to help and get our photography club up and running. With these projects we were able to get cameras, sd cards, card readers, and photo printing materials. All of these things have helped the photography club not just take pictures, but learn to edit those pictures in ways that keep them looking natural, but enhance the beauty seen in the photograph. Without these materials, the photography club would be using outdated material and have limited access to actual learning about photography, we would simply be a point and shoot club with old fashioned digital cameras.”

  • Lights, Lens, and Lifetime Learning

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

I would like to take this time to thank you for your support of our photography project. The impact you have made is indescribable. The students take great joy in using the cameras and camera equipment we were able to obtain through this project during our club time and for sponsored activities. Students have been able to learn so much about photography and the use of the cameras in both auto and manual mode. I have watched them go from taking random pictures to being precise in how they pose individuals and the lighting of their camera set up.”

  • Molding Minds in Math

    Funded Aug 9, 2023

Thank you for your support in providing the materials for our "Molding Minds in Math" project. The goal of this project was to provide students with the materials needed to make math more visual and to include a variety of project based learning into the classroom. While we are only a few weeks into the school year, these supplies have already been used across several different projects and activities.

Students were so excited to see new supplies that were not worn down, broken, and just overall not functional. They have used these materials to make, teach, and play educational games, create some beautiful pieces of mathematical art work, and in every day classroom activities that allow for the use of markers/color pencils and other supplies that were provided through this project.

I cannot wait as the year goes on to watch my students grow and create even more pieces of artwork with the foundation of math behind it. Students are able to show their personalities, use visual representations to learn math, and be creative thinkers in their own ways thanks to the wonderful support and donations we recieved to make this project possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woodral

  • Changing Minds One Task at a Time

    Funded Jun 22, 2023

Thank you again for your amazing support that has allowed my classroom to recieve the new white boards and storage cabinet we were needing. We use these supplies weekly for our non-curricular and curricular tasks where students work in groups of three to solve mathematical problems. Our favorite project so far has been called Palindrome Depth where students had to find how many reversals of a number it would take to get a palindrome. For example, 28 is not a palindrome. If I reverse the numbers and add them together 18+82, I get 110 which is also not a palindrome. If I do that again though 110+011, I get 121 which is a palindrome meaning that 28 has a palindrome depth of 2 because it took two reversals to create the palindrome. The students really enjoyed being to able to use the whiteboards and permanently erase mistakes if they were made saying that they felt less pressure to always get the correct answer. The cabinet has been a life saver for storing our supplies for the building thinking classroom and the wheels on it have been greatly beneficial for moving the cabinet as needed.

Students love to use whiteboards and were very excited when they first saw all the whiteboards and I explained what they were for. Students love having the ability to work in groups and the ability to stand while doing it has been wonderful for more active students.

Next steps for my classroom include continuing to work towards a thinking classroom. Students are slowly getting out of the mindset of asking "what do I do next" and moving towards a "lets work together to figure it out" type of mindset. They are starting to use context clues, listen to other group discussions, and put their heads together to try and find a solution. It has been a phenominal shift in mindset and we are only a few weeks into the school year.”

  • Technology Tools

    Funded Jan 16, 2021

Thank you so much for allowing my class the technology that has made learning more fun and meaningful to my students. The technology has been used to download a variety of learning games to help bridge the gap some students have in their learning. All students can grow and show progress and sometimes focusing on those areas is all that it takes to just that. My students are so excited to have a new form of technology. With the two tablets, my students have to sign up to use the tablets and when they are finished with their work we draw a name and that is who gets to use it at that time. I have also been able to use the tablets during my tutoring time after school with multiple grade levels. The tutoring students especially love getting to use the tablets when they are caught up on all of their work, and I love how the students are having fun while working on educational skills. Again, thank you so much for your donations and for supporting my classroom.”

Teaching math during this time has led to a transition of mostly online assignments. My students do a lot of drag and drop activities that can be difficult to do with a mousepad on the Chromebook, especially with those who have special needs. Some receive occupational therapy or have difficulty with hand eye coordination. Much of my subject matter is graphing or plotting points and the use of a computer mouse makes this task simpler and less daunting for these students. A few of my students have had the luxury of being able to bring their own computer mouse from home but many of my students are unable to do so, making assignments more of a struggle for them.
