About half of our school day the students are doing learning centers. Students practice skills independently during centers while I am working with small groups on reading. I plan centers that are engaging and hands on for my students to practice important skills. Like most children in Kindergarten my students learn best through hands on and engaging play. My students need more hands on materials to keep them engaged in their centers. These materials will help them master letters and sounds, fine motor skills, improve their writing, and reading. My students love to build things, so I know they would love to build words using the legos. My students would be ecstatic to use the lock and keys to solve math equations. These materials would help my students master concepts we are learning and would help them become even more excited about learning.
