I am proud to say that our school is partnered with Lead Guitar for the 2020-2022 school years. “Lead Guitar serves schools, neighborhoods and communities that face serious socio-economic challenges. In the 2018/2019 school year we provided direct, daily to twice weekly guitar classes for 3,519 students; in-school or university campus concert experiences for an additional 12,160 students staff and community members; and professional development, co-teaching and other support services for more than 60 school teachers. A history of success in tough schools and a consistent pattern of growth supported by multi-year investments has Lead Guitar poised to become a program of national impact as we enter our 20th year of operations.” “These Lead Guitar Participants averaged 15 days absent in the year prior to starting Lead Guitar and reduced that by more than half to 7.25.” The above was taken directly from Lead Guitars 2019 Annual Report. Lead Guitar provides the curriculum, training and a Master Instructor who is currently joining my classes 2 hours per week via Zoom. I anticipate he will be able to join us in the classroom next fall. Lead Guitar provides everything except the guitars. I currently have 10 guitars and I am currently borrowing the rest for this amazing program. I am hoping to have a complete set for my classroom by next fall for this incredible program and opportunity. I would need 10 more guitars to have a complete classroom set. This would provide guitar instruction for over 137 students at my school. Having a complete set of guitars will enable this program to continue long past my partnership with Lead Guitar and an amazing gift of music making for my students.
