Ghost Stories
Funded Mar 31, 2023As the new school year approaches, I am so excited to be able to bring the thrilling story "Wait Till Helen Comes" by Mary Downing Hahn to my new students!
In my 6th grade ELA classroom, we read and analyze all different types of text. We study short fictional stories, non-fiction and poetry. In addition to that, we also read short novels. I try to choose books that I think my students will enjoy - and this one is sure to please! Not only will my classes enjoy a great read, but they will also be learning important and valuable reading skills like reading comprehension, character analysis and plot stages just to name a few.
Thank you so much for making this possible- it would no have happened without you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nalaschi

Funded Jul 15, 2021Thank You so very much for your donations to my most recent project - "Annotation Station." These resources were greatly needed for my ELA class. Annotating while reading is an essential skill for reading comprehension and understanding to occur. It forces students to really think about what they are reading, while also promoting class discussions.
Before my supplies from Donors Choose arrived, I did not have much to offer the students to use to mark up their text. I really had to count on them to bring in some supplies. That did not go well. Thanks to donors like you, I received a large box with all sorts of goodies:) like markers, colored pencils, many different colored pens, post-it notes, highlighters, and much more. I don't know who was more excited - me or my students.
As we continue to move through the year, my students will be using these stations that I was able to create frequently. They love all of the choices they now have to do their very important work.
Thanks Again!:)”

Funded Feb 23, 2021I would like to take this time to say THANK YOU for supporting my project-Morning Coffee. I am so excited to bring Scholastic News to my classroom and to my students. Our sample issue recently arrived and we couldn't wait to dive into it! The students were delighted to see the issue on their desks when they arrived in the morning. They loved the idea of their very own "morning paper".
In my ELA class, we read all types of fiction and non-fiction pieces. Scholastic News is one of my new valuable resources to help me teach the important skills that surround reading non-fiction /Informational text. There are multiple skill-building activities along with videos that feature factual content.
Thank you to all of you that made this possible. Your support is truly appreciated.

Kick It Up A Notch! Creating Digital Lessons that Deliver
Funded Jan 27, 2021I would like to take this time to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you that donated to this project and made using Nearpod a reality for my students.
Nearpod helps me make any lesson interactive, fun and engaging. As an ELA teacher, I am always looking for ways to spice up the content that I'm teaching. With Nearpod, I can include interactive Quizzes, Polls, Videos, Collaborative boards, Fun games and more. This can be used for both in-person and virtual instruction.
All of the tools in Nearpod are helping my students retain and recall information which aids in their comprehension. They do not even see the rigor of it all because they are having fun while learning. My students love to compete in some of the games, they love to share their ideas, and see their classmates thoughts on the collaborate boards, which then usually leads to great class discussion.
Nearpod is a top notch instructional tool that I am so glad to have the privilege of using. All of you have made it possible - I will be forever grateful.”
