  • The Secret to Reading

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

When I heard about Secret Stories, I knew I needed them for my class. Being that my class isn't a big class, I was excited to see that they had these smaller options. One, so that I can use in small groups and secondly, that I can hang on my walls and not take up too much space. I also really like that they different color options that you can pick from to help fit in with my class's decor.

I have been using these cards in small groups and they have been a game changer. Being able to give the students a fun, silly way for them to remember these sounds is amazing. I'm so thankful to my donors for your help in funding these and giving my students the opportunity to succeed in the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Yanes

  • Wireless Mouse---Oh My!

    Funded Sep 8, 2021

I can not thank you enough for the generosity of your donation. The students have been busy using the mouses to help navigate through the different website we use to do some of our work. This donation has made it easy for them. Not having to worry about clicking and over passing the answer they want to pick because they can't probably use the laptop mouse pad, has helped them feel confident and not frustrated.

Your donation and help towards our class is very much appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

    Best Regards,

Mrs. Yanes and her Kinder Students”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Yanes

  • Let's Get this School Year Started!

    Funded Aug 5, 2021

I can not begin to thank you for your generosity in making the beginning of our academic school year so amazing. The white board has been a huge success for my whole group and small group instruction. I can take it around with me to help my students. The jumbo crayons were a hit!! Those little faces glowed when they saw all those crayons ready for them to use. We still use them daily! All the other little details that were in also funded with this project have been used for our STEM projects and daily tasks.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Yanes

  • Grow, Grow, Grow: At Home and in Class!

    Funded Jan 27, 2021

This project helped my little kindergarteners learn responsibility by watering their plant and take full charge of their tickle plant. Both my in-person and virtual students were able to plant and watch their tickle plant grow. They asked questions and answered a lot of those questions through observation and collecting data. They are now familiar with the life cycle of a plant and what it takes to help a plant grow. Thank you to my donors for giving me the opportunity to give my students a hands-on experience and foster their learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Yanes

All our little kindergarteners are eager to learn and what better way to learn than having hands-on experiences. These projects will help answers a lot of the daily questions I get from my curious little minds. Such as, "Why do plants have different colors?" Why do butterflies start as a worm?" "When can we grow our own food?" These are questions that I get often and every year, year after year from my students. These projects will help me give them the answers to these questions. I want to give my students an opportunity to learn hands-on, rather than just reading it from a book, or better yet hearing me lecture them from a book. As much as I show my little ones videos and such using technology they will get so much more from actually living it.
