Celebrating Juneteenth
Funded Jun 5, 2023The project we embarked upon was an engaging fusion of art and technology. Each student received a T-shirt and HTV vinyl to bring their creative visions to life. They began by brainstorming and sketching their ideas, focusing on themes that resonated personally with them. These ranged from inspirational quotes and abstract designs to representations of their hobbies and aspirations.
Students used graphic design software to create their designs, learning about layout, color theory, and digital artistry. This project allowed students to express themselves in a tangible and personal way. The pride they felt in wearing their creations was evident, and it fostered a sense of confidence and individuality.
As a result of this project's success, we plan to relaunch it in the Spring. This project will display their creativity and encourage an entrepreneurial spirit as students learn about marketing and selling their creations.

Bedtime Blessings: Bringing Cozy Nights to Children in Need

Funded Sep 21, 2023We are incredibly grateful for the Hispanic heritage supplies we received! We've integrated these new resources into our curriculum to celebrate and explore Hispanic cultures, histories, and contributions. One specific project that was a great success was a "Cultural Exhibition Day." Students used the supplies to create visually rich displays and artworks. Through engaging in hands-on activities, students could explore and appreciate the richness and diversity of Hispanic cultures, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the multicultural world in which we live.
Our students' eyes lit up when they first saw the colorful and diverse Hispanic heritage supplies! There was excitement as they explored the materials, asking questions and expressing their curiosity. They were particularly excited about the colorful decorations that taught them about different Hispanic cultures and traditions. Replenish Our Ink!
Funded Jun 27, 2023The replenished ink has revolutionized our learning environment immensely. We can now print high-quality learning materials such as worksheets, diagrams, and educational images, enhancing the visual learning experience for our students. This has been particularly beneficial in making abstract concepts more tangible and easier to understand, facilitating a more engaging and interactive learning experience. Additionally, having printed materials allows our students to have hands-on resources they can refer to, annotate, and interact with, promoting active learning and better retention of information.
The students are thrilled with the clarity and vibrancy of the printed materials. The new ink allows us to print in color, which makes the learning resources more visually appealing and engaging. It enables us to include a variety of visual aids like colorful diagrams, charts, and illustrations, making the learning process more exciting and less monotonous. Access to these high-quality materials in the classroom has fueled their curiosity and motivation, creating a more stimulating learning environment.
Our visual learners and those who benefit from hands-on materials have warmed to the improved printing capabilities. These students find it easier to grasp and remember information when presented visually and colorfully. Additionally, students who may need additional reference and support materials at home to reinforce their learning have found printed materials invaluable. It has enabled them to review, revisit, and strengthen their knowledge and understanding outside the classroom, enhancing their learning experience.”

Storage for STEM
Funded May 18, 2023I am grateful for your generous contribution that has significantly impacted our classroom storage needs. Your support has enabled us to introduce mobile shelving units into our classroom, and the results have been truly remarkable. Before implementing these mobile shelving units, our classroom was often cluttered, limiting the available space for students to move around and engage in various activities. The mobile shelving units are used to hold many of our STEM kits. I can now easily roll the mobile units to set up for the transition of classes. Students can quickly grab their kit and begin working immediately.
My students were excited to assemble the units and test to ensure everything was secured. Once completed, they assisted with stacking the kits onto the shelves.
Now that the storage solution for our STEM kits is resolved, I am looking into reorganizing more of our STEM supplies and equipment in the future.”

"Alexa, Turn on the Lights!"

Your generosity will allow students to explore STEM concepts and make real-world connections to promote student achievement through the authenticity of their learning. My students were able to explore how microcontrollers work and how their functionality relates to real-world applications. My students were able to make their learning relevant to their daily experiences. Learning how computers or IoT (Internet of Things) can control our everyday needs such as turning on lights by voice recognition, was eye-opening for many students. Students were excited to learn about various career pathways connected to this project. Students explored careers in electrical and electronic engineering, computer software engineering, and computer hardware software engineering. Next year, I plan to have students design, create, and wire a smart house. Again, thank you for your generosity.”

In addition, my students were excited to have a classroom set of acrylic paint markers with various color options for coloring in fine details. There are more paint colors to choose from with different paint finishes. Students can show their creativity without limitations. Funded Feb 9, 2023Thank you for your donation of supplies for my students. As a class project, the students personalized a design for t-shirts to wear to their robotics competition. They used a vinyl cutter to cut and weed their work and a heating device to apply the vinyl design to their shirts. We were so excited when the materials were delivered to the classroom. Students took an active role in assisting with unpacking and organizing materials in our space. More opportunities have been given to students to create their own designs. I appreciate being able to stock my classroom with resources that students want to use. Our future projects will include making our school swag for visitors, staff, and students. There are more paint colors to choose from with different paint finishes. Students can show their creativity without limitations.
Currently, students are designing small gifts for individuals that inspire them. We are incorporating our classroom laser engraver to make the gifts. Students use the supplies to decorate and add their touch to their projects. These supplies seem calming and relaxing to the students and support their social-emotional well-being.
