  • Ready to Rock Our Therapy Sessions With Back-To-School Basics

    Funded Sep 3, 2024

Thanks to your incredible generosity, our counseling program started the school year strong, and my students have already benefited so much from the resources you helped provide!

The TPT gift card allowed me to access engaging social stories, Boom Cards, and visual supports that have made a real difference in helping my students develop their social and emotional skills and participate in counseling sessions. The sand timers have become a favorite tool in our sessions, helping students manage their time and providing a calming visual to support their emotion regulation. With the laminating sheets and colorful paper, I've created durable, adaptive books and an interactive bulletin board that my students love using. And the cleaning supplies have helped us keep our counseling space welcoming and safe, with students taking pride in doing their part to maintain a healthy environment.

I can't thank you enough for making this project a reality. Your donation has gone a long way in ensuring that my students have engaging therapy sessions that support their social and emotional development. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Allison

  • Play With Purpose: Developing Social Skills in Counseling

    Funded Mar 28, 2025

Thank you so much for bringing this project to life! In counseling sessions, we use games to practice taking turns, waiting, managing frustration, following directions, and so much more. With these new games, activities, and toys, my students will have so many more opportunities to practice these important skills. They are going to light up with excitement when they see all of our new resources arrive. They love trying new things and I know they will be very motivated to learn new skills with these engaging activities. Thank you so, so much for helping us to make this project happen. ❤️”

  • Creative Counseling Tools for Extraordinary Learners

    Funded Mar 27, 2025

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! Your support has brought this project to life. As we've gone through a lot of our supplies over the course of the school year, this project was funded just in time. These resources will help us end the year strong. This will give us the opportunity to get ready-made resources such as activities and adaptive books for our students. Additionally, we'll have what we need to ensure these resources last - like laminating pouches and sheet protectors. Thank you so much for making sure that my students have what they need to engage in their counseling services.”

  • Sparking Social Skills Through Pretend Play

    Funded Aug 16, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my students through this DonorsChoose project! With your generosity, my students now have engaging new resources to support their learning. They absolutely LIT UP 💡with excitement when they opened the boxes of magnatiles (magnetic blocks). 🤗 My students love building towers and trains with their new toys. Sometimes this presents challenges and it gives them an opportunity to ask for help, problem solve together, and feel accomplished when they've achieved their goal. The cash register is super popular in my office. Students love pretending to be a "store owner." We've been working on engaging in social exchanges with peers, asking for a turn, and waiting for a response. The cash register makes our role plays so much more fun and realistic.

Your kindness has truly expanded the opportunities my students have to grow, and I can't thank you enough for making that possible! ❤️”

  • Ready, Set, Regulate! Learning About Emotion Regulation Through Reading

    Funded Oct 4, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting this project. 🤗 Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to significantly expand our counseling library with books that are perfect for bibliotherapy. 📚 My students have been so excited to read these new books. We have had really great sessions on labeling new feelings, practicing coping strategies, understanding rules, and showing respect. Having a character in a book to identify with when learning about anger or making good choices reduces shame that students may feel and makes these discussions much more meaningful.

I am truly grateful for your kindness and support in bringing these much-needed books to our counseling library! Your generosity means that my students have access to powerful stories that help them navigate their emotions, build social skills, and develop resilience. 💙 Thank you!”

  • Bringing STEM Into Therapy

    Funded Sep 17, 2024

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in supporting my students and our counseling program! Because of you, we now have access to Osmo educational resources, which have already brought so much excitement and engagement to our sessions. 🤗

The moment my students saw the Osmo kits, their eyes lit up with curiosity and enthusiasm. 🤩 They couldn't wait to explore the hands-on activities and see their creations come to life on the iPad screen. These interactive activities have been a game-changer, especially for my kinesthetic and visual learners, who thrive with this type of hands-on learning.

Osmo has been a fun tool for helping students practice problem-solving, decision-making, and emotion identification in a way that keeps them motivated and engaged. It's amazing to see them think critically and express themselves creatively while working toward their therapeutic goals.

Your support has truly made a difference in my students' learning experiences, and I am beyond grateful. Thank you for believing in them and for making their counseling sessions even more meaningful and impactful. ❤️”

  • Warm Up to Wellness With Winter Mindfulness

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you so much for helping me to bring this project to life! I know that with winter upon us, our students will really appreciate our hot chocolate coping skills activity. I'm also so excited to introduce grounding strategies to my students where they will become more in touch with their senses (what do you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch). These activities will help my students develop their emotion regulation skills in a fun and engaging way. Thank you so much for supporting my students in their learning!”

  • Fuel for Our Minds

    Funded Jun 7, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting this project! Your support means the world to our students and will have a lasting impact on their daily well-being and learning experience. Having snacks available ensures that every student, regardless of their circumstances, can focus on learning without the distraction of hunger. This project has also created moments for connection where students can practice their social and self-advocacy skills while feeling supported and cared for. One of our students has even taken on a leadership role by refilling our snack station, asking teachers what they need for their classrooms, and delivering snacks to students and teachers as needed. Thanks to your kindness, we can continue providing a welcoming, equitable space for all students. Thank you so very much!”

  • Making Connections Through Puppetry

    Funded May 9, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity and support! Your contribution is truly making a difference in the experience that my students have at school. The puppets, books, games, and art supplies that you helped provide are already sparking excitement in our counseling space. These tools make practicing kid-friendly coping strategies like bunny and snake breathing effective, engaging, and fun. Students love having the puppets join them during read aloud lessons and frequently invite the puppets to play with them during choice time. They have had so much fun making their own puppets to use during our role play activities and always enjoy opportunities to express themselves through art. My students are so creative and have been so proud of their personalized puppets. This project has really helped to bring our counseling activities to life. Thank you for believing in my students and helping us to build a supportive and nurturing environment. These puppets will be an integral part of our counseling program for years to come.”
