Enriching Vocabulary Through Paper
Funded Dec 12, 2011Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. We have received our thesaurus' and dictionaries and they have already gone to great use.
The students were so excited to get these books. The few that we had were paperback, ripping, and were written at the adult level. They loved that these were hardback and that they would last for many years to come. We have written a new personal narrative since receiving them and the students loved being independent and being able to look up their own words in the dictionary or finding new words that were synonyms for the words they may have chosen that were bland or boring.
Thank you again for your generosity. Words cannot explain how much it means to me.”

Printing Our Life on Paper
Funded Oct 7, 2011Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! We love having access to a printer in our room and being able to use it for writing and other curricular areas. It has been such a blessing to see our students strive and grow throughout the year.
Today, we celebrated our second "big" writing piece. We have worked for about three weeks now on this and were able to celebrate with another classroom. A few of the students had time to type up their writing and were able to print it out here in the classroom as opposed to waiting until our computer lab time which is once a week.
Thank you again for your kindness and for helping out our classroom. We really appreciate it!”

A Glimpse in Time
Funded Aug 26, 2011Thank you so much for your generosity in helping my class by purchasing a digital camera. The students love it and love that they are able to use the camera to see themselves in "action". The students are able to utilize the camera by taking pictures of their community (a social studies standard), themselves during in class activities (theater, groups, projects, and class parties), and cannot wait for Open House when they can display pictures that they have taken or that they are in for their parents!
Thank you again for your generosity. It truly is appreciated. ”

Paper for Potential "Poe's"
Funded Jan 10, 2011Thank you so much for your generosity to our poetry project. My students have had an amazing adventure learning about twelve different types of poems and creating their own. They have gone through the entire writing process as well with these poems; from editing, to a rough draft, final draft of typing on the computers, to publishing in their new books you helped to buy!
These books are definitely something they will hold on to and remember. They can create their own cover, write a dedication, as well as include illustrations to make it their own. I know that in twenty years, the majority of these students will still have these poems. Many have shared some very profound thoughts as well as deep memories and feelings in these poems. It is so great to see that!
Thank you again. Without you, we would not have been able to have the full experience!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Hruska
