  • Art Within the Classroom

    Funded Dec 19, 2021

Thank you so very much for your donation to my classroom. There are so many ways and areas that these items will be used. Besides the everyday art projects that teachers do within their classrooms throughout the year, one of the big areas that we use these supplies is in our reading, social studies, and science curriculum. As you can see with some of the pictures, we wrote stories, and then drew a picture that depicted the story that we wrote. We learned about the native americans, then did a native american photo album where we wrote and drew/colored pictures, and we even do drawings and writings to summarize the novels that we finished reading in class. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hruska

  • Flexible Seating = Flexible Learning

    Funded Feb 4, 2020

Thank you so much for wanting to help out our classroom. The use of flexible seating within our classroom is definitely a game changer! Students are more focused, excited about learning, and in return we are seeing growth and better scores.

The use of wobble chairs help with students who have fidgeting issues, who need a little help with focus, and also are working their core. Many days, I have students fighting over the chairs because everyone wants to sit on one, and we only have six in the room. This is definitely a fantastic problem to have.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hruska

  • Bring the Gift of Reading to Our Classroom!

    Funded Feb 6, 2019

Thank you so very much for your generous donation! I truly am blessed to know that you are wanting to help out my class, and the needs of my classroom.

My students have absolutely loved diving into our class novel, Blood on the River. Being able to see history unfold as we learn about James Town, Captain John Smith, and Pocahontas is wonderful. By having a novel in each of my student's hands, they are able to follow along to see the fluency of the text, they are able to go back into the text to prove their point with text evidence, as well as have book talks as a class, or with partners.

Thank you again for donating, and for wanting to help out my class.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hruska

  • Literacy in the Classroom!

    Funded Dec 13, 2018

Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. By receiving a class set of the novel, The Thief Of Always, is amazing! Our class has started reading it, and they are already loving it. The questions that the students have, the fact that they are pulling out text evidence to prove their points, or to infer what the author is saying is truly amazing. I've included two pictures that show my students writing in their readers notebook. By writing about what they read, it helps the students to understand what they are reading, as well as shows them how reading and writing can definitely comingle. Again, from the bottom of my heart, I truly am thankful for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hruska

  • Empowering My Students With Flexible Seating

    Funded Oct 8, 2018

Wow! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for donating to our classroom. Having the project be submitted and funded within a two hour time frame is absolutely amazing! When the boxes came, the students were thrilled to see that we were getting some high top tables and chairs for them to utilize throughout the day.

As soon as they were ready, students were immediately begging to sit at them. I find that students are using them for independent work, reading quietly, to stand at when they need to stretch out, and when working with partners.

Being able to move around is my goal this year, and knowing that students have this opportunity with this donation is the best feeling ever!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hruska

  • Finding Hope When You Think All Is Lost

    Funded Sep 17, 2018

Wow! Words cannot describe how much it means to me that you wanted to help out my class and purchase a class set of these books! In just one day of having them, we have dug deep into the book to read, understand, and reflect on what we read. By having the students have a book of their own, we were able to look back in the text at quotes that were meaningful, evidence to support our thinking, as well as look at the words and writing as a whole to understand what the author was trying to say and get across. Thank you so very much for your generosity. It truly means the world to me!”

    With gratitude,

  • Empowering My Students With Flexible Seating

    Funded May 1, 2018

Thank you so very much for your generosity to helping our classroom with our many flexible seating opportunities! The students absolutely love the lap desks. They use them around the room while working on their chromebooks, reading, or working on projects. They also love the new red lap tables. They are able to work comfortably around the room, but still have a desk to sit at.

In just a few days of having these new items, the level of focus from the students has grown tremendously. I am so proud of them and the dedication they have to their learning.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in this project and for funding such amazing items that all of my students can and do benefit from. We are truly blessed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hruska

  • Empowering My Students With Flexible Seating

    Funded Apr 20, 2018

Thank you so very much for your kindness and generosity. My students are ecstatic to receive so many amazing flexible seating options! They love the floor chairs. To be able to work on the floor, and be comfortable is a great way to work. They also love the ball chairs. The ability to work on one of those, as well as work on their core is key.

The students are already so much more focused, producing quality work, and able to learn in an environment that meets their needs. They continue to ask when we can get more items, and how else we can make our room flexible.

Thank you again! We truly appreciate it.”

  • Reading Makes Our Classroom Grow!

    Funded Oct 16, 2017

Thank you so very much for your generosity in donating to our classroom. Your donation allowed us to get many new books for our classroom, many of them series, that the kids stated were of interest to them.

By having these books, my students are able to have a better choice of nonfiction and fiction books for our readers workshop block. In readers workshop, students are taught language arts skills and strategies through a class read aloud, then must practice and how understanding of these skills through their own book, chosen by them, at their specific reading level. What a great thing for students to be able to do!

Thank you again for wanting to help my students to be better readers!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hruska
