This grant would provide my high school math classroom with an iPad, an apple pencil, and a keyboard. I will be able to connect the iPad to my TV wirelessly via an apple TV. This will help me, as the teacher, as I will be able to teach from anywhere within my classroom. I will not be stuck teaching at the front of the room far away from the majority of my students. I will be able to teach my students without my back being to them as we work problems on the board. I will also be able to teach from the back of the room. This will allow me to be closer in proximity to all students which will increase student engagement. I also will be able to see student computer screens to ensure students are on task throughout activities and lessons. Furthermore, using the iPad will allow me to present student work easier and faster. Students will be able to write and solve problems on the iPad without having the anxiety of being placed at the front of the classroom. I also can take pictures of student work and project it directly to the TV. Due to being in and out of the classroom the past 2 years, I have noticed student anxiety increase significantly. By using these functions of the iPad with students, I believe this will ease student anxiety within the math classroom. By allowing students to present their work in a less stressful way, student to student learning will increase. I believe that by having an iPad, an apple pencil, and a keyboard will benefit all my students by increasing their engagement, lower their anxiety, and promote learning from each other while learning mathematics.
