  • Game On!

    Funded Dec 16, 2020

My students have loved these games! Every year I create a social group with some of my special education and general education students. During these groups I teach my students important skills like communication, sportsmanship, game playing strategies and how to handle wins and loses. I always enjoy watching my students flourish in their social and emotional skills.

The games that were funded have all been used to teach these important life skills. My students now know how to work through difficult situations and use the skills they have learned.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lorenzen

  • iPad and Osmo

    Funded Dec 16, 2020

This has been such a great resource for my students! They have really enjoyed learning in a hands-on and engaging way! I have noticed that many of my students are very eager to use the Ipad and Osmo and are applying what they have learned.

The tactical aspect of the Osmo has really made a difference for many of my kids. Being able to move, manipulate and build objects has helped them understand on a deeper level.

Thank you for continuing to support my students, my classroom and myself. Your generosity is appreciated!”

  • Cleaning Supplies

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

I cannot wait to use these cleaning supplies in my classroom! I know people say that a loud/messy classroom creates the best learning, but I also say that a clean and germ free classroom helps! I usually get cleaning supplies at the beginning of the school year, but I run out by January. These supplies should last until the end of the school year and help me get started for next school year, too.

Money is tight for many of the families in my classroom and I really hate asking them to donate supplies. I really appreciate these supplies being donated to ease the financial burden for my students and families.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lorenzen

It's no secret that children love technology! It is stimulating to them and keeps them engaged. Although, after this year, they may never want to use it again! The students love using iPads and computer-based programs to learn. That is why I want to add an iPad and Osmo to our reading centers. Several other teachers have created projects for these in our building and I was inspired by them. The iPad and Osmo set in this project will allow my students to bring their learning to life. Osmo actively engages children in the learning process by combining tactile exploration with technology. Whether a child is a music lover, bookworm, or aspiring mathematician, Osmo has a game for them. What I especially love about this program is that it is able to reach students on a wide range of levels. Some of my students may be learning their sight words, while others need practice with higher level skills. Osmo is able to meet the needs of so many using one program.
