Clean, Safe and Organized
Funded Aug 25, 2021Thank you for helping to keep our classroom clean, safe and organized! All of the items in this project have already been used in one way or another.
The masks have been so helpful! I have had several students come to school with a mask that is too big, dirty or broken. My students know that they can go over to the "sanitation station" and get a new mask without asking.
The soap is being used daily as well. I am diligent about having students wash their hands which means we are going through soap fast! That's okay though, because we have plenty in the cabinets.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Kleenex® Brand and one other donor.Good Mood Food
Funded Aug 4, 2021Thank you so much for funding this project! This has been one of my favorite projects, by far!
When these boxes arrived I stacked them on the back counter. My students came in and had so many questions about the boxes, what was in them and who they were for. At the end of the week I messaged parents to let them know that I was sending something home and then I sent a box home with each student. I received so many kind and appreciative messages from parents!
I was also able to keep a few boxes in the classroom just incase a student comes in late or expresses that they are hungry throughout the day.”

Go Fly a Kite!
Funded Aug 4, 2021I was hoping to have this project funded by the end of last school year, but I was still able to put it to good use this year! I had planned to send the kite and towels home with students so they could use them over the summer, but we used them in class instead.
I allowed my students to decorate their kites and play with them at recess before sending them home. I had students draw pictures of people in their families, their favorite subject at school and something that makes their heart happy. This was a great way to get to know my students.
The towels were also a big hit! I gave one to each students and let them lay it on the floor for quiet, independent reading time.”

Fun in the Sun
Funded May 8, 2021This project was such a hit with my students! I put the chalk, beach balls and sunglasses in the sand pails and sent them home with my students as an end of year gift. I had several parents message me and say that their child took their bucket and ball to the beach! Other parents said that their child really enjoyed playing outside with the chalk.
Last school year was different and hard. My students and I all had to learn new and innovative ways of being at school. Having this project funded really gave my students something fun and exciting to do; they were able to play during the Summer just like children should.”

Clean Air & Healthy Kids
Funded Apr 7, 2021Thank you so much for providing this air purifier for my office! I have enjoyed being able to safely pull students for small groups and for testing. We are still wearing masks and practicing social distancing, but having the added assurance of clean air makes the students, parents and I feel better about being in a smaller area.
This air purifier recognizes when the air is "dirty" and turns itself up until the air gets to a more appropriate level. This provides even more confidence that the air is being cleaned even when I'm not in the office to witness it.
These "covid times" have created a lot of uncertainty, but donors like you keep my students and I going.
Thank you again!”

Sit Us Up for Success!
Funded Dec 19, 2020Thank you again for supporting my students and I! We have loved using these stools for reading groups and they have added a cute pop of color to our classroom.
These stools have made it easier for my co-teacher and I to tell students where to sit during groups. They cannot share seats or work spaces right now so we assigned each child a color that they sit on everyday. We have also allowed students to sit on these stools if their desk chair becomes to hard and uncomfortable.
My students have really loved receiving new items for our classroom.”

Comforts and Joy!
Funded Dec 22, 2020This project has sure kept us comfortable and joyful!
My students were so excited when they saw the Echo Dot for our classroom. Many of them have them at home and already knew how to use them, but some students needed a quick lesson. My students have really enjoyed asking Siri questions. Some ask simple questions like "what's the weather today?" and some ask more in-depth questions like "how many gallons of water does it take to fill an olympic sized swimming pool?"
My students favorite thing to do is ask Siri for a joke of the day!”

A Well Organized Classroom
Funded Dec 18, 2020These storage containers and bins have really helped organize my classroom. I was able to use some of the clear, small storage containers for morning bins and STEM items. The bigger bins were used to help organize students materials since they are not allowed to use the inside of their desks or cubbies. The paper organizers help keep my letters home, letters received and class assignments organized and easily accessible.
The different colors have made it really easy to find and grab the materials I need.”

TPT Gift Card
Funded Dec 19, 2020This Teachers Pay Teachers gift card might just be one of my favorite projects funded! Teachers Pay Teachers has been such a helpful website for teaching resources like daily math reviews, study guides, Google Slides and fun holiday materials.
I always search for items that are aligned with our Standards of Learning and can be used to meet all of my students individual needs.
Once items are purchased they can be used for years to come. I will keep them in my Google Drive and continue to use them for upcoming classes.”

Full STEM Ahead!
Funded Dec 18, 2020These STEM activities/bins have been so fun and engaging for my students! We use them in the morning when my students have completed their Daily Math Review and also for indoor recess.
My students have loved building new things, exploring the manipulatives and watching their visions come to life. I disinfect these items and rotate them everyday. This not only allows the materials to stay clean and germ free, but it also gives every child the opportunity to use every bin.
Thank you again for continuing to support my classroom and my students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lorenzen
