    I am so thankful for your support in completing this project! Thanks to your contributions I will be able to give small gifts to students on their birthdays!

    My English learner students are usually low-income and their families sometimes are not able to celebrate their birthdays. I have talked to many students and this does make them sad. By bringing them a small gift on their special day I am making them feel welcomed and appreciated. They need this emotional support as they get used to a new country and language.

    Thank you for your support in completing this project! I was able to receive a beautiful, large rug to cover the carpet and it has made students become more interested in learning about the different U.S. states.

    Also, other teachers and colleagues have noticed the rug when they come in the classroom and give compliments on it. It definitely stands out and makes the classroom a more inviting place for students.

  • Materials For English Learners To Promote a Positive Learning Environment!

    My students have enjoyed receiving stickers as rewards and like to wear them in their cute faces! They are teenagers but still enjoy having birthday parties, cupcakes, stickers and anything that they could perceive as a reward.

    We also take a lot of notes during class and they often took a long time trying to sharpen their pencils. With the new pencil sharpener, they can quickly sharpen pencils and go back to their seats to take notes.
