To help our students during their remote learning, my staff and I gathered materials and laminated them for my students to use at home. Unfortunately, the materials can only last so long. Our resources are limited, and what we are able to currently provide is not very durable or thick enough to last the school year. Offering my students this backpack full of learning tools for literacy, language, and math will greatly help them learn at home.
With help, we can provide our students with a backpack full of sturdy learning materials that can last the school year or longer. I believe the materials will offer my students multiple opportunities to apply the knowledge they learn during their remote Zoom class learning and home learning experience. They'll have their own magnetic, plastic letters that will be helpful during our Zoom language learning. The materials will greatly help my students because my students can physically hold, touch, and see the letters as we review them each week with our phonemic awareness online learning activities.
The backpack also offers math materials. Counters, or counting links, will be used in a variety of ways, such as using them to count, sort/classify, and solve math problems involving addition and subtraction.
With this backpack and the learning materials in it, my students will be provided with a variety of concrete materials to use during their learning online and at home. They will be able to learn using their senses, touching, feeling, seeing, and talking about what they are doing as they learn.
