Language and Literacy for My Lovelies
Funded Jan 30, 2024Thank you so much for our new literacy materials. Students use them on a daily basis and they have created much excitement during our literacy sessions.
For many of our students, English is their second language so these bright, hands-on materials help keep them engaged while reinforcing key concepts. The letter matching eggs are very popular! This resource not only fosters letter recognition but also bilateral coordination and fine motor skills. Students spend too much time in front of screens these days and manipulating 3D puzzles such as the letter-matching eggs presented challenging opportunities for tangible problem-solving.
The wind-up toys are also extremely popular with our students and correlate with our Wheels unit of study. Many children have never encountered such a toy before and were fascinated by its mechanics. They become overjoyed when their developing fingers can manipulate the small gear causing the toys move on their own. These toys also fostered their oral language and storytelling skills as they play on story mats containing various story settings.
I cannot thank you enough for the generous donations - they have truly impacted many of our students in need!”

Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader!
Funded Dec 18, 2022My students were thrilled to receive these engaging literacy resources! These materials provide daily interactive opportunities for my students to practice skills with phonemic awareness, CVC words, and writing. I often need to create a "waiting list" for my students so they can take turns using them.
The writing tablets in particular have inspired even the most hesitant writers to practice creating shapes, lines, and letters. I created favorite character name cards and the children love to try to write names like Elsa, Ariel, and Black Panther!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my students prepare for the high standards of Kindergarten!”

Literacy for My Little Learners!
Funded Aug 9, 2022I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations! It went towards high-quality, engaging games and materials for my PreK students to learn about letters, sounds and rhymes. Phonemic awareness and phonics are vital skills for learning to read in the future. My students have already begun rhyming, clapping syllables and matching letters to sounds - and it's only November! We just had parent - teacher conferences and I've heard that our little learners are going home and continuing to sing, rhyme and recognize print at home! Thank you for helping my students begin their educational journeys on the right track!”

Funded Apr 27, 2021Thank you so much for your contribution to our class printer! Since receiving it, I've printed hundreds of color visual aids, games, and charts to assist my students on their learning journeys. Many of my students are English Language Learners, therefore, clear and vibrant visuals are paramount to ensuring they understand the content being taught - verbal instruction simply would not be as effective.
An exciting feature of our new printer is that my students are also learning about technology - especially since many do not have their own devices at home. Although they are only 4 and 5 years old, they wound up becoming quite savvy at printing interesting articles and photos from our class iPad. One of our 'units of study' was on animal babies, and students learned so much about how animal babies grow and thrive from their printouts. Technology skills are vital in the 21st century and your donation has fostered this in my students - we are forever grateful!”

Dreaming for STEAM!
Funded Dec 14, 2020I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. My students have been able to get hands-on experiences with stimulating and challenging STEAM materials. The resources we received from your donations are still some of their favorite choices during Centers time. I've been able to solidify crucial math, science and engineering skills through the use of these materials.
This month's investigation focus was on PLANTS and students reveled in watching the seeds in the terrarium sprout before their eyes. They are using the pattern blocks to create models of plants while labelling the jobs of each plant part. We are also utilizing the light table tray as a Little Red Hen sensory storytelling center, where the children explore real wheat and flour as they act out the story!
I could not have provided my students with so many valuable explorations with my budget alone. Your generous help will aid the hundreds of students that will walk through my classroom for years to come!! Thank you so very much!!”

Ms. Anderson
