Essential Materials Equals Better Education

Funded Dec 12, 2020

My students are so excited to have new essential materials to improve their learning. I have recently started intervention groups for students in 3rd and 4th grade that are struggling to read. The mechanical pencils and pencils, erasers, and sticky notes are definitely an asset to this class and the improvement in their reading. The sharpies and cardstock are being used to create a word wall from the words they are mastering. They love to add a new word to the wall. The wire mesh file organizer are perfect to store our reading materials.

Because our students come from low income they are always excited to get new materials, especially ones that they get to use. When you get new things, you feel pride and I could definitely see that with my students. These essential materials will help my students better their reading & comprehension in my classes.

Even though, I will continue to use these materials with the intervention groups, I will also use them during my normal reading comprehension blocks. I can't wait to see the gains in reading that our students will make. Thank you for helping make a difference.”

With gratitude,

Ms. Heidi
