Teaching during a global pandemic is HARD. Meeting the needs of my students while adhering to safety procedures and protocols has been challenging and I'm constantly seeking new ways to make sure the students are in the best environment for optimal learning while at school. A typical Kindergarten classroom looks very different compared to what it's looking like during a pandemic. Normally, there is a lot of movement happening within the classroom. But with how contact tracing works, it's vital that students stay within their own pod and for 99% of the time, at their own desk. This goes against the very being of a Kindergartner who was made to move and explore! I am trying to seek ways that my students can still move even while they're staying at their desk and alternative seating is the way I want to accomplish that for them. Help me reach my goal of adding a few more alternative chairs to my classroom. So far, I've been able to purchase 6 for my classroom this year but that isn't enough for my 21 students. I'd really appreciate your help in creating the best possible first experience of school for my Kindergartners. Thank you!
