My 2nd grade students are some of the most resilient and brave youth I have met. They face some hardships in their daily lives that no child should have to face. Many are low income, and many are dual language learners. I also have a large proportion that are English language learners, sometimes entering mid year with no knowledge of the language. The variety of my students makes teaching them both a challenge and one of the most rewarding experiences.
