We are transitioning to a hybrid learning on December 14. Some students will be sitting with me in the classroom, while most students in the class will be continuing to learn remotely. I make instructional videos of all of my lessons and we watch them together as a class while I pause and check for understanding. I also put them in small groups during the lesson to solve math problems and discuss their ideas together. I am issued a school laptop and the extra monitor will help me to have several programs open simultaneously that help me monitor ideas and provide feedback for individuals and multiple small groups. The adjustable desk will allow me to raise my laptop and second monitor to a standing position so I can more easily move from instructing students remotely at the computer to answering questions for students who are sitting in the classroom. Some students have been struggling with too much screen time and typing their math steps in the computer. The printer would enable students who are attending school in the hybrid model to have a personalized paper copy of an assignment that they could work on in class and take home with them. Having it in the classroom would prevent anyone else from having to touch the assignment. These items together will help me to monitor, provide feedback, engage, and meet the diverse needs of students learning remotely and students who are transitioning back to school two days a week.
