Virtual learning is difficult for many-- even harder for those that are choosing it for safety, not because it is the best option for that student. Our goal with the science laboratory is to provide remote learners with the opportunity to watch, learn, and be a part of actual and real science WITH their counter parts partaking simultaneously. The beauty of science is it allows for transformation, cause and result, and the beauty of life happen before your eyes. By visiting this laboratory, students will partake in hands on learning of various science standards, making observations, and caring for various animals, amphibians, and marine life to promote their understanding of life cycles, ecosystems, cell life, and habitats that are covered in grades 1-8. With scheduled weeks for each grade, science can take place in this room to allow for students to truly be immersed in science while simultaneously working hands on with the material. The aquarium will house the insects so students can see the tunnels and ecosystem they create, directly correlating to 1st and 2nd grade science standards. The plant cell can be used to foster the conversation our 7th and 8th grade when discussing the difference between plant and animal cells, and to use the laboratory to allow students to use their microscopes socially distanced while watching their teacher use the model to describe it.
