  • Fine Learning!

    Funded Mar 25, 2022

I first of all want to start by saying how thankful I am for having my project funded. Having this opportunity to give my students different ways to learn, just makes me so happy. This year has been a unique one that is for sure. Due to uncontrollable circumstances in our building, we have been on E-Learning this year. We are optimistic that we will start back in the fall.

With this being said, I know that my students will appreciate and love these materials. We have some materials that they can use their fine motor skills with, but this is more of a fun expericence. This will also give my teacher and I the opportunity to also get skills while just observing them.

Being on E-Learning, I do however plan on using them in one of my videos. This will give the students that will be back in the fall an opportunity to see the new materials. Then next year we will use them to their full extent. They will get to start learning their numbers by counting and recognizing the numbers and their colors and shapes. Again, this would not be possible without your donations. We are so very thankful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Amanda

  • Rocking Our Cares Away!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

We love our new rocking chair! I not only use this to sit in at carpet time, but during difficult times throughout the day. When some of the students just need a minute to work through things. The student and I will find a minute to sit together and rock and breathe and just relax until they are ready to get back to the rest of the class.

When the students saw the chair, they were excited. Quite a few of the students wanted to sit in it. We took turns, and then we went over rules and boundries. This way the students know from the beginning, when they can sit in the chair and when.

So this chair will be cherished now and forever. I really want this chair to be a "safe spot" for my students. I want them to know that when we are sitting their together, they know they can trust me. I want them to know love, and that I love them because sometimes as sad as it is, some of my students to have that. Thank you once again for helping me be able to have this in my classroom to help my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Amanda

  • Using Your Senses

    Funded Sep 17, 2021

I wanted to once again relay my gratitude for funding this project. These items are really useful when it comes to transitions, and working together at free choice. While playing at free choice, the students learn how to work together, share and take turns. They work on their listening skills as well.

When the the items were brought out and put on the shelves, the students were very happy and excited. They wanted to look at them and use them right away. During free choice when they were set out, the students right away worked on taking turns. This is a big thing we work on alot in our class. Being kind and taking turns.

My hope it that the student continue to use these items. Not only taking turns and listening but to come up with different ways to use these items. Make new games or ideas and ways to be creative. I want my students to think outside of the box, so to speak. We will continue to come up with unique ways to use these items in our carpet circle time too. Thank you once again for helping my students”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Amanda

I plan on using the items during different activites throughout the year. First off, what came to mind was I would be able to use these items during our senses week. I plan on using these materials not only just at carpet time, but also letting the children explore with them in the sensory table. There will be materials sitting out and they would be able to explore and pick what they would like to put in it. I plan on using the Mystery Feely Box a couple different ways. I would use them during our senses week and sometimes for our Mystery Box days. I would have different materials in the box for the children to feel. Some of our children do not or have not had the opportunity to have toys or items to feel and hear and use their imagination with. My hope is that they will be able to be creative and like sounds and describe things to real things in the real world, in their own words. The Sound and Sort Stackers I will use for our senses week like the other items, but I plan to also use them in our math area. We will work on sorting and counting during our small groups. I think the children will enjoy these items, my goal is to make it as fun as I can, and to get the children thinking.
