Let's Educate and Hydrate!!
Funded Apr 27, 2024My high school students were ecstatic to receive your donation of snacks and water. The water was especially appreciated on the scorching, humid days in the classroom, providing a much-needed relief from the heat and helping the students stay hydrated and focused. The snacks were a delightful treat that the students eagerly anticipated throughout the day, serving as incentives and rewards for good behavior and academic achievement.
The students were immensely grateful for the donors' generosity, feeling valued and cared for. The snacks and water contributed to a more positive and supportive learning environment, motivating the students to strive for their best in class knowing that their efforts would be acknowledged. The donation had a profound impact on the students' overall well-being and academic performance, leaving them eternally grateful to the anonymous donors for their kindness and generosity.”

Help! Help! Hooray!
Funded Feb 10, 2024The donation of bottled water, snacks, and personal hygiene items to my class had a profound impact. Firstly, it addressed immediate needs, ensuring that my students had access to clean water and nourishment throughout the day. This was especially important here in Mississippi where the weather turns hot fast. Secondly, having snacks readily available helped alleviate hunger, allowing students to focus better on their studies without the distraction of an empty stomach. I was also able to use the snacks as prizes whenever we would play review games to prepare for state exams. The students really liked this. Thirdly, the personal hygiene items helped contribute to their dignity and self-esteem, and fostered a positive sense of self-worth. This provision also relieved financial burdens on my students' families who may have struggling to afford these essentials.
Best of all, these items created a supportive and caring environment within the classroom, where my students felt, valued and supported by their teacher, peers, and community. Additionally, they boosted morale and motivation, as my students could see that their needs are being recognized and met by their community. Furthermore, these donations inspired gratitude, a sense of community involvement, and encouraged my students to pay it forward. Ultimately, these seemingly small acts of kindness I believe will nurture their potential for future success and happiness.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Center for Disaster Philanthropy.Work Smart! Play Hard!! Be Safe!!!
Funded Mar 4, 2022My 11th grade class sends their sincerest thank you for donating the cleaning supplies and the water. My full roster of 75 students were elated that someone thought of them during this time. They were so excited that they drank all of the water before pictures could be taken, but please know that it was all very much appreciated. Our next steps are to continue cleaning and sanitizing our work stations because cold and flu season is fast approaching. We all know that the key to success in school is to be at school so hopefully our cleaning practices will help keep us in the classroom this year! Once again, thank you so much for your awesome donation!”

This classroom project was brought to life by American Federation of Teachers. The Presentation Debate
Funded Jun 4, 2021My students greatly appreciated the much needed supplies and materials that were donated to their classroom at the start of the 2021-2022 school year. Due to the wonderful individuals who donated to my project, I was able to provide the students with a clean and disinfected desk, along with hand sanitizer and a face mask every day.
This effort helped the students to feel confident that their health and safety was a priority in my class. I definitely believe that these resources contributed to steady attendance with very few outbreaks of Covid-19 along with increased class participation.
In addition to the PPE received, the presentation remote and flipchart easel allowed my students to collaborate with each other in small groups or pairs as needed while also ensuring some measure of social distance in this age of Covid-19.
Ultimately, all of the materials were put to great use and helped contribute to a successful 1st semester. Next steps are simply to continue making safety a priority so that the students can continue to come to school and learn.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Bilbro
