Drinking Water for Scholars
Funded Sep 27, 2022We want to let you to know we were both elated and greatful by your kindness and compassion in supplying us drinking water! The water crisis in Jackson is still on going. Boil water alerts and decreased or no water pressure happen constantly. However, the EPA has appointed persons overseeing repair and upgrading of the water infrastructure.
All of our scholars in general curricular and extracurricular activities have benefited from the water that all of you donated. The sudents are given water in my classroom to drink. Our water fountains have been turned off. At lunch and breakfast I have water available for whomever desires water! The all of the athletic teams have access to the water for practice and games. Some students are given water to take home.
We want to thank you all again for keeping us in mind and giving so, generously in our quest to have safe clean drinking water. We ask for your prayers that our city, state and national leaders can come together working to solve and rectify the problems that we face daily.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Stapleton

Funded Mar 23, 2022I would like the to say thank you to all of the donors that supported the "Laptops for Learners" project. The Laptops weren't able to be processed because the original vendor couldn't fill the order. Therefore, I had to get replacement items. I ordered three Dell Chromebooks as replacements. Which worked out really well, because our high school issues mostly Dell Chromebooks to our scholars. The scholars use them to complete assignments from Canvas. Also, scholars are able to type rather than write in responding to questions. Therefore, legibility is never a problem! In teaching I use various different online teaching platforms to engage students such as Blooket, Nearpod, FlipGrid, Quizizz, Plicker, Quizlet, Kahoot, Quizzes, Nearpod and etc. Having these Chromebooks facilitate the teaching and learning process.
These scholars are most excited by not having to share a device other scholars or siblings. Our school doesn't have an adequate supply of devices for all students. These three scholars now a device that they can carry to class and home not have to wait their turns.
These three scholars are especially warmed by the new technology because they are touch screen. They have an option to add a mouse if that is their preference. The devices are compact and able to fit into their book bags!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Male Teachers of Color Initiative.iPads for Pupils!
Funded Jan 12, 2021My students and I want to thank you for your generosity from the bottom of our hearts! My students have greatly benefitted from having access to these I-pads in addition to the PPE! Most of the students are under privileged and did not have personal computers. All my students have already completed the Algebra III on-line class. The PPE was very helpful in keeping our classroom safe, as a matter of fact we had no Covid-19 cases!
Students were able to put aside their cell phones when trying to complete on-line assignments. Equally important, on the weekends the I-pads were available for check out. This allowed students to get ahead on their class work!
Many Students have been accepted to four-year colleges, community college and, or going to trade schools. Which are answers to my prayers and goals of theirs. Without your help it would have been virtually impossible of some of them to complete the class. Again, we want to thank you for your support!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Stapleton
