Flex seating provides students a way to casually read in the section they are browsing without having to run back to the official seating area. The current seating arrangement contains rectangular tables, and classic brown plastic chairs. These types of chairs do not help with posture or movement while sitting. Posture is crucial as it improves blood flow, which, in turn, improves concentration and learning. These types of chairs help students to avoid a rigid posture and promote core movement for balance. Flexible seating allows students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. In turn, this burns more calories and increases metabolism. It also helps keep minds more alert and focused.
