I want to thank you for your generous donations to my project, "Project Safe Return". Teaching during this pandemic has had major challenges. I appreciate your generosity in helping me and my students to overcome just a few of those challenges. As you could imagine, when we were told we would be returning to in-person learning at our school buildings, I was concerned about the safety of my students and myself. I survived having Covid-19 and spent 7 days hospitalized in November 2020. I knew safety measures and precautions had to be in place in my classroom to ensure we all remained safe and healthy.
The hand sanitizer, face masks, disinfectant spray, wipes, kleenex, headphones, and desk sneeze guard were materials that I desperately needed to ensure the safety of my students and myself. Thanks to all of my donors, and this platform, I was able to receive those items at no out-of-pocket cost to me or my students.
Before my students enter my classroom, I have wiped down all desks and surfaces with antibacterial wipes and sprayed disinfectant spray on everything. Upon student arrival, each student is given hand sanitizer to clean their hands and a fresh face mask. They are seated in the same seat daily and spaced apart for social distancing. For safety measures, my students remain with me throughout the school day, even when they are virtual with other teachers. To keep the noise level down and so everyone can hear their teachers, as well as me, teaching other students virtually, the headphones provide the necessary noise reduction and privacy needed for us all. My desk sneeze guard provides protection for me and the student when a student needs to approach my desk for assistance or questions.
This platform and my donors are Heaven sent. You all have made this school year truly amazing and safe. Continue to keep up the awesome work. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. My students and I have enough materials to remain safe until the end of the school year. We will continue to stay safe using the sanitizer, face masks, kleenex, headphones, and sneeze guard even through till next school year.
**P.S: I attempted to upload photos, however, I was not able to at this time. Hopefully, I will be able to later and you can see the smiling faces of my students and the items put to good use. **”
With gratitude,
Ms. Griffin
