This project will provide English language learning resources (teaching tubs) and identity-affirming books to help support their growth in and out of the classroom. My students bring diverse experiences, as well as a unique set of assets and experiences to the classroom. Funded Mar 11, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation to this Donors Choose project! Thank you for helping me restock specific basic classroom items that my amazing multilingual Kindergarten students use every day! This project gave us the needed dry erase markers and erasers that we need for important daily instruction. My students were so thrilled to received these school supplies. All of these supplies help me teach word study in our dual language classroom which empowers students as independent multilingual writers and readers. These supplies are used daily in both Spanish and in English instruction to teach elements of word study such as mechanics, spelling, punctuation, fluency, word order, organization of ideas, and other skills. The supplies obtained through this Donors Choose project allowed for me to customize so many resources around my Kindergarten dual language classroom. Often times classroom resources are only available in English. My bilingual students were thrilled to see all the different resources I created in Spanish to help support their language acquisition and elevate Spanish! The items in this project like the cardstock and glue sticks helped me create resources specifically tailored to my unique multilingual students. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!”

Libros Para Kinder
Funded Dec 29, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donation to this project! You have helped me enrich ny Kindergarten students reading instruction with these authentic and relevant books! My students love when I read to them out loud and grabbing a book themselves to practice their developing reading skills. All of these books have been so helpful because they hook my students with images and stories of characters who look like them! The Celebrate Las Posadas bilingual book was so helpful in explaining more about these holiday that is celebrated in the Latin community. Our school even had it's very own La Posada Literacy Night! My students were primed for the experience with this book!
My students have loved all the bilingual titles as they are emergining bilinguals themselves and often struggle to find titles that represent their dual linguistic identity! Again, thank you, thank you, thank you for helping me provide libros para Kinder!”

My Kindergarten students are eager learners who are ready to engage with math manipulatives and math lessons! They love having all our math tools neatly organized and ready for them to engage with!
Having storage bins to keep all of the math curriculum tools and resources organized has helped my students and the adults who support them greatly. Each bin has everything we need for each unit of math during the entire Kindergarten year.

Thank you for helping fund this project and give my Kindergarten students flexible learning opportunities with all the different items and resources. My students have been so excited to use the resources every day.
The items funded through this project have allowed for learning to happen on any wall in our classroom. The sticky post it charts and pocket charts can be moved all around the room with ease. These items are especially supportive to allow for interactive learning.
Student developed anchor charts can easily accessible to all students in all parts of the classroom. El Centro de Silabas has supported our Dual language learners as they emerge in Spanish and English learning in our Kindergarten classroom anywhere in the room! Yay!! Thank you so much!”

Funded Dec 31, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donation to fund my Social Emotional Learning project. My students have benefited tremendously from the resources, tools and activities that I have been able to teach thanks to you! This process of our youngest learners developing self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal skills are so vital for school, work, and life success.
Thanks to so many of the resources funded through this project my students will have stronger social-emotional skills which are better able to cope with everyday challenges and they will benefit academically, professionally, and socially. I have implemented time in our classroom for mindfulness and feelings check in. Having access to different tools allows for differentiation to all the different learners in my classroom.
Our calm down corner as well as reflective writing has been impactful in our classroom and I can presume it may continue for many beyond our shared space. Thank you for giving our students the opportunity to feel valued, supported, welcomed and loved in our classroom. Thank you! Thank you!”

They could not believe how many new art supplies we received in our classroom! Every new item has brought smiles, cheers and genuine laughter from my students.
My students are our youngest learners and giving them the opportunity to explore different art mediums and tools has been priceless. My students have had the opportunity to express themselves and their feelings with all of the amazing art supplies thanks to your generous donation.
Art is something that will carry on with them for the rest of their life. I am so grateful to have been able to bring art to our classroom and incorporate different art lessons to enhance their Kindergarten experience.”
