Orff Instruments for MAC
Funded Feb 8, 2024Thank you so much for choosing to fund my class project. This will help improve musical access to K-5 students in the north end of Middletown, CT. These instruments will be well loved by 5 year old's to 11 year old's. We use these Orff instruments to help teach young students rhythm, melody, and musicality. With these particular instruments, students will practice reading notes and performing as a group. It is crucial to start teaching these skills young. Our young musicians in Middletown have grown up playing in musical ensembles from elementary, to middle and high school. Some even choose to continue playing beyond high school in community and college groups. Some, like many other music teachers in Middletown, grow up to become professional musicians and music teachers themselves. Music education is vital to a child's development. It teaches skills such as team work, discipline, motivation, self esteem, and provides a safe community for them to grow, learn and interact within.
I first got the delivery in the middle of a second grade class. I unboxed it in front of the children who were screaming with excitement and joy. Thank you for providing that moment of happiness for them.
Thank you for helping to give the wonderful gift of music to the very deserving students at Macdonough. The instruments provided will most certainly be used to cultivate a community of music loving students who will grow up to be kind, empathetic, artistic, and creative with your contribution.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Giattino
