Because of the pandemic, the students have less access to books at the school library. They also have faced many challenges with needing to be social-distanced at school including less recess, games, and activities, etc. Having more books in the classroom would really help give them something fun and educational to do. The only books we have in the classroom are ones I have bought with my own money, and we have a limited supply. I would really love for the kids to have books both fiction and nonfiction in different genres, so they can discover their interests. I believe having more exciting books to choose from will increase their love of reading and their reading skills. Some of my students come from low-income families and don't have books at home. I would love for them to be able to borrow books from the classroom to take home.
