  • First Grade Classroom Essentials

    Funded Jan 13, 2025

In a first-grade classroom, simple supplies like hand sanitizer, pencils, Sharpie markers, and Band-Aids have a big impact on students' learning and well-being. These items may seem small, but they play important roles in keeping the classroom running smoothly, helping children stay healthy, organized, and ready to learn.

Hand sanitizer is a must-have in any first-grade classroom. Young children are still learning how to keep their hands clean and practice good hygiene. Germs can spread quickly when students are playing, sharing supplies, and working together in small groups. By using hand sanitizer regularly—especially before snacks, after recess, or when sneezing and coughing—students can help prevent the spread of illnesses. Fewer students getting sick means fewer absences, which leads to more consistent learning and participation. Hand sanitizer encourages healthy habits that not only benefit individual students but also the classroom as a whole.

Pencils are one of the most basic and important tools in first grade. At this age, children are developing their handwriting, practicing spelling, and solving math problems. Having sharpened pencils available allows them to complete their work without delays. Because pencils frequently break or wear down, keeping a steady supply ensures that students stay focused on learning rather than searching for a writing tool. It also teaches responsibility as students learn to care for their supplies. Pencils may be simple, but they are essential for helping young learners practice the skills they need to grow.”

  • Help to Provide Dry Erase Markers

    Funded Jan 13, 2025

I cannot not thank you enough for your generous donation of Expo markers to my first-grade class! Your kindness and support mean so much, not only to me as a teacher but also to my students, who rely on these tools every single day for learning and engagement.

In first grade, we use whiteboards and dry-erase markers constantly throughout the day. Whether we're practicing phonics, solving math problems, or playing interactive learning games, Expo markers allow my students to actively participate in their learning. Instead of simply listening to lessons, they get to write, erase, and try again—building confidence as they develop foundational skills. Your donation ensures that every child has access to this hands-on, engaging way of learning.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your donation is making a direct impact in my classroom every single day, helping my students grow and thrive. I wish you could see the excitement on their faces when they get to use their whiteboards, proudly writing their answers and showing off their hard work. That joy is possible because of your support, and we are truly grateful.”

    With gratitude,

  • Help Us Print in First Grade

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Printer paper and ink have impacted my classroom tremendously. It allows me to print colorful printouts that help engage young learners, making lessons more appealing and easier to understand. Printable worksheets reinforce concepts and provide hands-on practice, essential for early learning.

It has allowed me to incorporate more art projects.vAccess to paper allows for creative projects, fostering self-expression through drawing, coloring, and crafting.

Printed materials can be used for displays that celebrate students' work, boosting confidence and classroom community.I am able to print schedules, rules, and charts help maintain an organized classroom environment, aiding both teachers and students.

I am also able to print newsletters and announcements to keep parents informed and engaged in their child's education.

Having skin colored crayons in my classroom is important for representation. Seeing crayons that match your skin tone helps students feel represented and valued in their creative expression. Thank you for donating!”

  • Clean Classroom for First

    Funded May 19, 2024

Having Clorox wipes, tissues, paper towels, and sanitizer in a first-grade classroom significantly enhance the learning environment in my class! Here are the main ways it has impacted my first grade classroom.

Regularly cleaning surfaces with Clorox wipes helps reduce the spread of germs, keeping students healthier and minimizing absences due to illness.

Having access to hand sanitizer reinforces the importance of hand hygiene. I can incorporate lessons about germs and proper hand washing techniques, fostering lifelong habits. Tissues and paper towels provide quick solutions for spills, sneezes, and runny noses, helping maintain a clean and comfortable environment for both students and teachers.A cleaner classroom allows students to concentrate better on their lessons without the distractions of mess or illness, leading to improved academic performance.

I can't thank you enough for these supplies and how much they play a crucial role in creating a safe and supportive learning environment in my first grade classroom.”

  • Promoting Collaboration in 1st Grade with Whiteboards

    Funded Jun 1, 2024

My students reacted extremely positive to receiving whiteboards and new markers in their classroom!

Some main reasons being whiteboards now make lessons more interactive. My students enjoy the opportunity to write and display their answers or ideas quickly, which can increase their engagement. They allow for instant feedback. I can quickly assess understanding by seeing my students' work in real-time, and students can immediately correct mistakes or refine their answers.

My students appreciate the chance to be creative. The whiteboards offer a space for drawing, brainstorming, and experimenting with ideas in a way that paper does not.

The whiteboards also facilitate group work. My students can work together to solve problems or discuss concepts, making learning more collaborative and dynamic.

Overall, the donation of whiteboards in my classroom is so appreciative by my students and myself, as they offer a more engaging, interactive, and flexible way to participate in lessons.”
