Exceptional IPADs for Exceptional Children
Funded Dec 2, 2020Your generous donations have impacted the lives of the students within classroom substantially. They uses the devices as interventions to help them improve on daily goals. The iPads allow for the students to access different learning platforms. For instance, I have children being able to work on a program called teach town. This program is helping some of learners who struggle with the ability to gain their alphabet and recognize numbers. This is a constant review and and way for them to learn to make choices. Other students, are using Boom cards to receive extra review on basic addition and subtraction. While other students are learning to trace by just the touch of their fingers. Their are so many life skills and educational skills being utilized with these iPads and the pen.
Technology plays such a large role in our children's daily lives now. They play games, chat with friends, and watch videos. However, in my classroom they are learning that this same technology can help you learn and gain so many needed life skills. They are learning to utilize the technology that the world offers as more than just a game but as a source of learning.
A few of my students have feel in love with this technology. A few of my students are non- verbal. This technology and some programs on the technology have allowed for them to express their basic wants and needs.Just because they do not speak doesn't not mean they don't have thoughts that want to be expressed. Their eyes alight with glee when they can request something and receive it immediately.
These devices have provided so much joy to my students. Thank you so much for your kind donations to help my students have the same opportunities as others.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Briya
