  • I Can Read!

    Thank you so much for the books you donated to my classroom. My students excitedly use them every day! Their reading levels have improved so much and I know that much of the speed of that improvement can be attributed to having quality literature available. What 6 year-old wouldn't want to read about frogs or a dinosaur playing baseball? Having a variety of books at a students independent reading level is amazing. There's no one in my classroom that doesn't want to read! Some students are even reading at a second grade level and we still have 2 months of school left!

    Again, thank you so much for helping my classroom and my students. We are so appreciative of your generosity and your support of education.

  • I Read All By Myself!

    Thank you so much for your donations to our classroom. Having a variety of leveled books for students to read is amazing! They are excited to read because 1) the books are at their independent reading level and 2) the books are interesting.

    Every single one of my students has moved up at least one reading level since we've received these new books. Some have even moved up three or four levels. I have no doubt that their reading skills will continue to improve with the help of the leveled books you brought into our classroom.

  • Excited Readers Need Books!

    I am so grateful for your donations and my students are just plain excited! When I received the books in the mail, I waited and opened the brown cardboard box in front of them. I told them that the box was for our classroom and wondered what could be inside. As soon as I took out the first book, screams filled the classroom. As the books kept coming out of the box, their screaming and laughter kept coming, too. It's fun to be a little dramatic with first graders.

    My students have access to these Elephant and Piggie books everyday when we have have free choice reading. These books are always the first to go. They sit on the carpet and read to themselves or to a friend. I think the best part of these books is that I hear them laughing while they are reading. I wish we could upload video!
