  • The Green Team Wants to Grow Their Own Greens!

    My students were overwhelmed with joy to build their own hydroponics garden section in the classroom and maintain it during the school year. It was an extension to thr Green Team. They grew their own veggies and herbs and had many taste testing sessions! They also brought the fresh herbs home to begin cooking wity families. We learned about many different culture recipes. These skills developed are not the typical skills learned in school. These type of skills will allow them to put to use all their lives!

  • The Green Team Needs Tools to Start Their Hydroponics Journey!

    The Green Team is using their hydroponics system each day! We have successfully grown 5 types of lettuce and a ton of herbs! We used it to add flavor for our food and hosted a lettuce tasting party!

    From day 1 the students took control of this project. They put the system together and they care for the plants. Every day they check the water levels and plant growth.

    In the photos you will see the lettuce tasting party, the plants and students setting up their next set of greens. We love having this in our classroom. Thank you so much for helping the students learn a skill they can use throughout their lifetime.”
