We have a strong bike culture at our school and celebrate bike riding year round. I am wanting to teach a class to students on how to repair and build bikes. The hope is that these students will be able to learn how to repair their bikes and then in turn be able to offer up repair work for other students. The other hope is that this will help with skills regarding reading and technical reading in particular as they follow directions on repairing bikes. Hands-on experiential activities are far more rewarding than just telling then how to do it. Here they will have to learn with guidance on their own.
