  • Enhancing Classroom Learning With Essential Tools

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Words cannot fully express the gratitude we feel for your generous contribution to my classroom. Your support has directly transformed the learning environment, providing students with resources that will profoundly impact their educational experience.

Thanks to your kindness, we were able to purchase:

Comfortable and functional chairs: These chairs have replaced worn-out seating, creating a more conducive and comfortable learning space. Students are now able to focus on their lessons without distractions caused by discomfort.

New keyboards: These updated keyboards have brought a sense of modernity and efficiency to the classroom, mirroring the tools students will encounter in professional settings. This upgrade is especially important for computer science and business.

Essential organizational supplies: With your help, we've implemented systems that promote order and efficiency, mirroring a real-world office environment. This allows students to develop valuable organizational skills that will benefit them in their future academic and professional lives.

More than just providing physical items, your donation has fostered a sense of professionalism and motivation within the classroom. Students have expressed their excitement about learning in an environment that feels more like a real-world workplace. They feel valued and prepared for their future endeavors.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fraser

  • Making Computing Fun!

    Funded Aug 24, 2022

Thank you for helping me set up my mobile computer cart. I travel from room to room and visit 15 classes a week. I was able to purchase a cart to hold my supplies, buy some cardstock and rewards for the students that I visit each week. I was also able to buy magnets to help with organization of log in cards as it is quite a job to keep 400 plus kids organized and having fun while using computers.

I also have a "Computer Compliment" that I give out to a star student in each class each week. I was able to buy stickers and small prizes to keep the students motivated to do their best and to make computing fun.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fraser

  • Students Explore the World of Photography

    Funded Mar 12, 2022

We have had so much fun using our new camera!

We have been able to stretch our creative muscles. Students are given a chance to be exposed to all different ways to express feelings and have a creative outlet.

Our new camera has allowed us to get out of auto mode and learn about composition, layouts, ISO and light.

We have also been able to work together in various class competitions. The students are very excited to have a professional camera to try.

Thank you for helping us create beautiful pictures and have experiences using a camera.”

    Mrs. Fraser

  • Classroom Meets Modern Office Place

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thanks you for your generous donations. I was able to purchase a teaching computer that allows me to project wirelessly to my projector. I am also able to use the computer as a tablet so I can draw on the screen in real time and the students can gain a greater understanding of the computer concepts. This has had the most impact as I teach computers and I am now able to move around the room and use proximity while I am teaching. I am no longer stuck behind a desk. I can teach from anywhere in the room and know what it happening at the student machines.

With your donations I was also able to purchase green screens and cameras to use in both my Multimedia (Jr High) and Digital Imaging (High School) courses. The students were very excited about the green screens and cameras as we are now able to make stop motion videos. We are not only able to cover the multimedia concepts, I am strengthening their math and science skills as they are using stop motion to tell a story of cell development or to perform a math equation. Everyone wanted to jump in and help put it together. Some were shy at first, but them warmed up to the idea of being on camera with a green screen.

I was also able to modernize my classroom a little with a new monitor stand, so I can monitor student progress in a computer lab and a new teacher chair so I can raise and lower the chair to see over my desk. I am also using it as incentive to "Sit in the Big Chair." I was also able to purchase a virtual reality system to enhance my curriculum. With the pandemic right now, I am only able to use it as an incentive to get work done. I hope to incorporate it in to the curriculum fully next year.

I teach a variety of classes and your donations have allowed me to make them a little more current with the materials they might see in an actual workplace.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fraser

I am teaching the workforce of the future with the furniture and classroom configuration of the past. My students are learning vital computer technology, typing and programming skills for the future and are forced to sit in chairs that do not support healthy posture or allow students to perform best. I would like to replace the ergonomically poor classroom furniture with smart chairs that are ergonomically designed to adjust in size, provide the right fit, move with a student, and enhance curriculum. As the classroom instructor, I am forced to sit at my desk in order to “teach” students technology while using out of date technology. I need to be in closer proximity to the students in order to guide, direct, and have a greater impact on learning. I would like to be able to present with a tablet that will allow me to be close to the students rather than being chained to my desk to project and giving them sit and absorb instruction. Being able to write on a tablet would allow the students to get a more authentic experience and allow me to guide and direct rather than sit and absorb. Both teacher and student seating has to adapt to what is going on in the classroom and the workplace in order to gain a measurable increase in student performance. I believe this project will make my students more future ready and provide them the environment deserved for a 21st century learning centered classroom.
